I was sitting in my room trying to finish my English paper.

The apartment was silent since it was “study hours” and we all agreed to respect each other’s need for quiet.

I was very focused on the task at hand, which is maybe why I didn’t notice that my roommate had come into my room until she sat right down onto my bed.

“I need your help with something, and it might seem a little…”

I interrupted her right then, “Ok! What do you need me to do?”

She looked a little shocked and said to me, “But I haven’t even told you what I need to yet, what if you don’t want to do it?”

I didn’t even have to think before I responded, “I’d do anything for you!”

“Anything?” She asked.

We finished talking and I helped her with what she needed. Sure enough it was something very simple and seemingly insignificant, but I couldn’t forget our conversation.

I ran through what was said over and over in my mind.
It’s such a common phrase.
“I’d do anything for you.”

Then why did it stand out to me this time?

Because recently I asked this question to Someone else.

I had always been told that His answer would be “anything,” but I needed to know for myself.

Because truth be told, I was struggling, and I needed help, but I was too afraid to ask.

Until one day,
I fell to my knees to plead for my trials to pass,
for life to get better,
for strength to carry on.
I cried for help.

And He answered, “Anything.”

Anything?

Do I really believe that?

Yes, I do.

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.  (Isaiah 41:10)

He will help,
at all times,
and in His perfect way.
With anything.

Is your heart in need? God will be there – for anything.
