Several years ago my daughters and I were driving through Heber valley.
It was a beautiful spring day…the fields lush green, with yellow dandelions and soft balls of fluff adding brilliant yellow and white dots to the landscape. Honestly, it was breathtaking.
Except, I have always hated dandelions.
Just that weekend before we had spent hours trying to get rid of the dandelions in our own yard. My heart went out to the farmer as I thought about him having to combat thousands and thousands of weeds.
My daughter interrupted that thought.
“Look Mom!” She exclaimed… “one thousand wishes!!”
In that moment my perspective changed…
one thousand weeds, or one thousand wishes
it all depends on how you look at it.
Yesterday that same daughter spent the evening taking engagement photos. She will be married in June.
At the end of the shoot we stumbled upon a red barn and a field of white dandelions ––two of her most favorite things in the entire world.
I watched her and JJ there, blowing dandelion fluff into the twilight and thought to myself, 1000 wishes…
that is how their journey will begin.
Maybe today you could find a dandelion… make a wish… and then move forward with faith as you approach the journey ahead.
